Tech.2014 Program Draws 225 to Hear Minnesota Tech CEOs and Leaders

The Collaborative’s May 8 Tech.2014 event, co-hosted by the Minnesota High Tech Association, featured five – 35-minute conversational sessions examining areas of Minnesota’s opportunity in an invigorating discussion and taking a deep dive into our state’s strengths and opportunities in technology. The program attracted 225 entrepreneurs, executives and investors who were treated to an information-filled morning and valuable networking.

April 9th Growth Series Seminar on "Private Equity Strategies" Attracts 200

The Collaborative and the Minnesota Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) co-hosted th April 9th Growth Series Seminar, attracting 200 CEOs, CFOs, investors and executives to a two panel discussion on Private Equity Strategies. In addition to experts from law, investment banking and accounting and tax firms, attendees heard from entrepreneurs and investors who’ve been involved in private equity transactions. They delved into the challenges and opportunities of effectively utilizing, raising and leveraging private equity for growth. Attendees also received a hefty 56-page materials booklet including speaker bios and a detailed, useful outline on the subject.

Weighty Five-Session Medtech Event Featuring Boston Scientific CEO Mike Mahoney Attracted over 300

Minnesota is known worldwide as a medtech mecca. On February 27, The Collaborative and LifeScience Alley hosted the Vanguard Series program on Medtech examining “Where Minnesota’s Strengths & Opportunities Meet” exploring five areas of Medtech opportunity in an invigorating series of 35-minute conversational sessions. The event attracted a crowd of over 300 CEOs, executives, investors, entrepreneurs and executives interested in Minnesota’s opportunities, challenges and future in our stalwart medical device industry. The morning was filled with lively networking, beginning with breakfast and a fantastic keynote followed by five great sessions.

Cold Morning and Great Content as ‘Mergers & Acquisitions’ Seminar Attracts 150 to Hear From Outstanding Panels

Over 100 were present by 7:45 a.m. on a cold, cold morning with schools closing as The Collaborative presented its first Growth Series Seminar of 2014, “Mergers & Acquisitions: The Market Continues to be Strong – For Both Buyers and Sellers,” on January 23. The event attracted 150 CEOs, CFOs, investors, entrepreneurs and executives to learn about the great potential in M&A and how to take advantage of the more robust market for their business. The two-panel, 3-hour discussion featured a wealth of information, expert advice and real-world stories. Content was rich, networking was energetic and attendees also received a hefty 68-page materials book providing take-home information to share with their teams.

On November 14th, The Collaborative hosted a four-panel breakfast discussing healthcare and medtech reform, two of Minnesota’s most important growth engines for our economic future. This event featured 12 outstanding speakers who live in these areas daily and offered their insights on the healthcare reform legislation, medtech innovation, wellness trends and the changing dynamics in Washington, D.C. 13th Annual ChangeMakers Dives Deep into Compellent Technologies; Followed by 18th Annual Entrepreneur & Investor Luncheon Featuring NVCA President

The June 6th double event began with the 13th Annual ChangeMakers event featuring a Collaborative Case Study on Compellent Technologies, following its road from startup to a $1 billion acquisition. As with other ChangeMakers events, this examination of Compellent provided a great dialogue from the perspective of the Minnesota innovation economy.
